Botanical Drawing | Wedding Invite | Wedding Art

I was recently commissioned to create a bespoke wedding invitation. The wedding is this summer and the bride wanted something beautiful which would give a feel of what the wedding would be like. We had a long chat and decided that I could create an illustration of summer wedding flowers incorporated with some insects which would make up the initials of the bridge and groom and she loved this idea. 

She then put me together a pinterest board of flowers and insects for me to use as reference. The illustration took 5 days from start to finish. I went into fine detail with a black ink pen. My favourite aspect of the illustration is actually the bumble bee which I took great care with. 

When I showed her the end result she was over the moon and is not only going to use for her invite but she is also going to use it for her own personal stationary and to get printed onto fine china. I was happy that she was so happy.
