Painting Brianna Noble Riding Dapper Dan

I was so moved when I first laid eyes on Urban cowgirl. Her real name Brianna Nobel who was photographed peacefully protesting with her loyal and very relaxed companion Dapper Dan, I first saw them on Instagram and then immediately became obsessed. I wanted to paint her as my favorite subject to paint is strong women and horses. She comes across so powerful that I wanted to try and capture that in a painting.

I could see the painting quickly take form and it was excitng seeing her and Dapper Dan come to life through the painting.

Once I had the first few layers of paint down I then wanted to work her into the backgorund more. I decided to use colour of the American Flag- red, white and blue. I started to create a feeling of change and movement with these colour behind her, keeping her porposly at the forefront.

I then added all the detailing over the top, but was still trying to keep the movement and mayham alive.
